Emotions

I realized a lot of the photos I have on the blog of Erik are happy ones. He is happy about 80 - 90% of his awake time. Lately he has been getting frustrated as he is still not crawling. He can creep though, where he drags his belly along. He will only do this for short spurts when he reaaaalllly badly wants something in front of him. 

Erik is frustrated here because he was just standing up at his activity table, and he fell on his bum ( he is good at doing this gently ) and doesn't know how to get back up. He is a very cautious little boy and doesn't like taking risks. I have seen other little ones take more risks than him. 

Over the past few days, we have gone into his room while we have tried to put him to sleep for a nap or at nighttime, only to come back and find him sitting up. He did it again this morning in the living room where he went from lying down to sitting up. Yay Erik! Last night, about 45 minutes after we had put him to bed, Jamie went in to check on him. He was sitting up, but slumped over and trying to sleep in that position. What a silly little guy! He knows how lie back down, but I guess he was in a corner so he couldn't.
