First Day

We are here in Maui! The flight was long, but always worth it. Our connection in Vancouver was tight and we barely made it on the plane because we had to go through Customs and security again at YVR where they made even Erik take his shoes off!

We got really lucky on the flight to Maui. Erik was able to sleep in an empty seat between us. There were about 20 other babies inflight and none of them enjoyed the same leg space as Erik did. 

The hotel a 1 hour drive from the airport, so our final arrival time at the hotel was around 2:00am Calgary time. Erik went to sleep in his little travel tent without too much fuss after having on and off sleeps during the trip here. 

The weather is a bit chilly as it is windy and cloudy today. Low 15 and high 23 Celcius. Daddy and Erik are having another nap right now. Mommy can't sleep. 

Jamie is happy enough with the ocean view he paid extra for. We can cook from the kitchenette while watching the waves and palms sway. There is a grocery store across the way so we are having caesar chicken salad for lunch and quesadillas for dinner. 

Erik is impressed with the ocean view too.
