Pancakes

Our New Year's Eve was cancelled because Jamie wasn't feeling well and Erik wouldn't have enjoyed being out either. The next morning, I decided to make a wonderful New Years Day breakfast. 

I made pancakes from scratch... and I don't think I have made pancakes at all since I was about 13, as I usually make crepes instead. They turned out looking beautiful. Fluffiest pancakes you ever saw! Jamie tried one and said there was something a bit strange about them. I tasted it and nearly gagged. They were absolutely disgusting! I knew immediately what I had done wrong. I had put baking soda instead of baking powder. I did catch my mistake and added the baking powder as well. All the while, I was also not measuring exactly. 

Jamie said they would have looked great on TV...

We then went to Kristin's house even though she is away still, to visit her cats, catch a friends documentary on TV that only aired on satellite, and so Erik could play with Jansen's toys as a change of scenery. 

After that we went to Sarah and Kris's for a visit and out for dinner at Montana's. We had a much nicer night than last night even though Jamie still isn't feeling perfectly himself.

Tomorrow we plan on visiting the daycare we will place Erik at.
