Baynes Lake, BC

We arrived in Baynes Lake at the Cooper-Key cabin on thursday morning. Erik woke up in Kalispell at 4:45 and there was no sign of him going back to bed. We met up with another family. They have a 6 year old named Macey and a 2 year old named Noah.

Erik absolutely adores Macey. She let him chase her around and she tickled him with his puppet. Missy at k-e-household also claimed this puppet when they were in Cypress Hills.

Macey had a skipping rope with Hannah Montana music in the handles/microphone. Erik thought it was fascinating and loved watching her play.

At suppertime, I thought Erik would try some of their macaroni noodles since he was so interested in the bigger kids. He still refused any pasta.

On friday night, Sarah and Kris, and Kristin and Jansen all arrived to join us. Daddy built the kids a fort to play in. The carpet in the main living area was really soft and somewhat shaggy since the cabin is mostly from the 70's. Erik loved it and rolled around in it.

We went to an outdoor Farmer's market in Baynes Lake and played at several playgrounds.

Jansen, Erik, Kristin and myself all slept in one room. The other family in one, Kris and Sarah in another, and Jamie slept by himself in the living room since he was still coughing loudly.

One night, as we put Jansen and Erik to sleep in the same room, we could hear they were talking to each other and making each other laugh. Then as one dozed off, the other would wake up the sleeping one and vice versa.

Here are all the kids enjoying watermelon by the campfire. Unfortunately there was a fire ban so we couldn't do smores in the evening, much to Macey's dismay.

We were at Saunder's Beach a lot, over at Surveyor's Lake. We were so fortunate with the weather. I heard it rained in Calgary a lot while we were gone.

As you can imagine, we had a lot of cleaning up to do on the last day.

On the drive home, we stopped at Chain Lakes Provincial Park in Alberta. It was gorgeous. Now we are back home. Erik had a day today with Mormor and his uncle in Riley Park. Possibly photos later.

That looked like fun! Sounds like the mommies don't get as stressed out as this mommy does when her kid gets up at night!
