TGIF!

A new toy!

Mr Drools.

We are gearing up for a busy weekend. We have two birthday parties! One boy is turning 1 and the other is turning 30. We also have a baby shower for a friend of mine who I have known since grade 1.

Yesterday we went to Market Mall and met up with two mommies and their babies and we went to the play center which is free. Boy is it ever popular! You have to book a time to get in. Erik couldn't really do much in there since he isn't even crawling yet, but Cael crawled around him. I was basically guarding Erik against getting run over by other kids.

Last night, Jamie and I went on our first date alone, since Erik was born. It made us realize that we do need our time together alone. Kristin was the babysitter and I will be returning the favour in the near future.

Erik got a new toy - an activity table where he can stand against it and press all kinds of buttons. He loves it.

I saw a baby swing at Toys R Us as well but I am still debating whether we really need it or not? It goes from 9 months up to 48 months and is $30. We already have the play structure in the backyard, so adding a swing makes use of the play structure. However, there are also a few parks nearby with baby swings that we can take Erik to. What do you think? Should we get it?

We have an activity table here too that he can play with when he visits!! Its a fun one with lots of noisy features.
I would see if you could get the swing for cheaper on usedcalgary (balancing the costs of driving across the city to buy it!) If it were me, I would get it. It will be used by other kids down the road...but if you like going to your parks, then do that too.
