Back to Routine

It's been quite a number of days since the last blog entry. We have been adjusting to the freezing cold weather (currently -24 celcius) and our daily lives. Of course it is always nice to be back home and we love our house. It took Erik a few days to adjust to the time change even though it was only three hours. Now we have the daylight savings time to adjust to as well!

Our whole family was oblivious to the time change, and I showed up at mass as it was ending yesterday. It threw off my entire day as I am sure many of you have the same experience.

We had an appointment at the helmet occupational therapist's and she said he is improving quite well. We think so too. Not sure on how much long her needs to wear the helmet, but I am thinking another 2 months.

Our camera is in the shop again so until I have whipped out the old camera again, I have some more Hawaii photos to brag to you with.

This weekend we took Erik out on errands, and he seemed to enjoy being out and about. I think Hawaii has gotten him really used to going around with mom and dad. We also went to Kristin and Jansen's house for a playdate, but Jansen was asleep nearly the entire duration of our visit so Erik just helped himself to Jansen's cool toys.

Erik now has eight teeth. Four up top, and four down below. Unfortunately, he is keen on grinding them. It makes one of the worst sounds in the world!

Today we have our second last class of strollercize and then we will go grocery shopping. Erik is eating more and more of what his mom and dad are having for meals, rather than just baby foods. That means I have to ensure what we all have for dinner is healthy and nutritious. Suggestions are welcome!

Always have a veggie.
I usually make 3 things for dinner: a meat or meat substitute, a steamed veggie, and then a starch (rice, pasta, couscous). Those are the nights its not a one-pot meal. If what we are eating is too spicy or is going to take too long to cook and she will get hungry (you wil experience this more when you are working) then I have prefrozen little portions for her of her yummy foods. So any type of soup or fish or meatball in tomato sauce, but its all in little portions.

I know its sooo cold here too. Blah.
