Bubba Gumps

Good evening! We went to Lahaina today on the bus and it was great. The bus was relatively easy and we had lunch at Bubba Gumps where Erik made some more friends. Bubba Gumps is fashioned after the Forest Gump movie, as I am sure most of you know. We had all the different kinds of shrimp you can get there.

Erik isn't really too fond of being at the beach. We think the waves are too noisy for him and he doesn't like the sand and the sun. Fair enough. Most of our hotel time is spent by the pool or on the lawn.

I was able to make crepes in the hotel room this morning for breakfast. Dinner last night at the BBQ next door was ok, but very windy. We think we will go back to our hotel's location as it is sheltered.

The photos are from our first day when the camera was working.

AMK, Too bad the camera isn't working, you could see Erik in the hat and swimshorts you got him. He is wearing it all the time.

Care, where did you stay when in Maui again? $13 a day for a car is awesome... I doubt we can get that now...

My camera broke too when I was in Europe. I remember trying to scope out cheap ones in Germany. Yeah right. I too got a disposable but never got the film developed.

Did you see this tall black woman with short hair working at Bubba Gumps? Her name is Maria. haha. I stayed with her in Lahaina, just a few blocks away. She's the nicest woman.

Isn't the art amazing? Lahaina is rated top in the world for harbour front art.

What do you mean? The bus system totally sucks. In Honolulu it isn't that bad, but still. Good luck with that!

I love his little maroon hat! And the hawaii shirt is so cute. I am glad he is getting use out of his swim outfit...that I bought 4 months before HE was even born!

Lahaina was a fun town, what did Erik think of that big tree?

He was just fascinated! It is so nice he was able to see flowers and trees and grass at this time of the year when he is much more aware. Last time we really saw any of that was in Sept when he was 3 months old!
